The 35th ASEAN Insurance Council (AIC) Meeting back to back with the 12th ASEAN Insurance Regulators (AIR) Meeting is tentatively scheduled between October and November, 2009, in Vientiane. The Congress and AYIM (ASEAN School for Young Insurance Manager) are usually held on alternate years, so in addition to the said Meeting, the 7th ASEAN Insurance Congress will also be held simultaneously in Vientiane. This will be the first AIC/AIR Meeting hosted by Lao PDR, and it will be a challenging task for them to organize these events.

The Deputy Director General Fiscal Policy Department, Ministry of Finance Lao PDR, Mr. Bounthom Lomany, is inviting the AIC Secretary General Mr. Teddy Hailamsah to visit Vientiane, for the preparation of the 35th AIC/AIR Meeting. Ms.Khadijah of AITRI will appoint Mr. Hairul Hilmi to join Mr. Teddy Hailamsah to Vientiane in order to prepare for the 7th ASEAN Insurance Congress, which will be held back to back with 35th AIC/12th AIR Meeting.

Mr. Teddy Hailamsah plans to go to Vientiane on March 15-17, 2009 to meet Mr. Lomany. He will also visit the proposed Venue including the facilities and accommodations there, in order to suit with the AIC Meeting requirement to ensure the success of this year ARM/AIC Meeting with the spirit of ASEAN togetherness.
